Aw maaaan this is not the ultimatum any of us wanted to see. Three things are certain in life, death, taxes, and another Fast and the Furious movie. It’s something that we’ve come to take as a given, but that truly keeps us together- the car chases, the beautiful toned bodies, the egregious use of slow motion cinematography, and of course, the “family” gatherings with Vin Diesel as our watchful patriarch.

Never has a franchise that has focused itself so much on family had such strange feuds! First we had the ultra-passive aggressive beef between Vin Diesel and “Dewayne” (which, by the way is the best way to refer to anybody named Dwayne when you’re mad at them), and now we’ve got Tyrese going at “Dewayne” as well!

The shocking thing is that Vin Diesel has actually sided the Dwayne Johnson in the ongoing Gibson feud! Et tu Vin? What a fucking betrayal. How is this family supposed to function being so divided? How are we going to get our dose of Fast and Furious when the talent won’t speak to one another? I mean this is a pretty difficult situation and we're getting into some serious family meta SHIT: Vin wants to keep his family together but Tyrese is mad at Dwayne because Dwayne threatened his family, and Dwayne probably has a family of his own that he cares about more than Vin's family but he knows how sensitive Vin gets about family so he lets Vin be the dad when really Tyrese is trying so hard to be a good dad.... gosh, family is so complicated!

But fear not, dear reader, I have faith that this will all work out, one because Tyrese has to realize that he’s not going to win this- and while he’s a key part of the Fast and Furious family, he’s not The Rock. And two, I seriously believe that these guys equate making more Fast and Furious movies to carrying the cross to Golgotha- like they’ve been divinely appointed to bring more sequels to the world, hence this amazing Vin Diesel quote:

Diesel, who was also on the red carpet, said of Johnson, “We still love each other, that's my boy. When I was making that difficult decision, should there be an 8 or not, I called [Johnson] and he said, ‘Brother, I will be there shoulder to shoulder with you to make sure it's the best movie in history.’ And he delivered.”

I actually do really respect how these guys believe they're making the greatest movies in the world. I legitimately think that the main reason these movies are halfway watchable is because the cast takes it SO seriously. I'm 100% certain that after they finish filming the iconic family dinner scene Vin Diesel turns around and says, "alright everybody whose not family get out", and then stays in character until the meal is finished.  Vin just leaning back in his chair, appreciating the family he's worked so hard to assemble, while Dwayne pushes all of the non-cod to the edge of this plate, and Tyrese glares angrily at him from across the table.
