KELLOGG, Iowa  --  A Kellogg man is searching for answers after his dog was shot with an arrow on his property on Saturday afternoon. Andrew Worrell lives in the country outside of Kellogg and owns four collies, including one named Scooby. Worrell found Scooby under his deck on Saturday with an arrow going through his torso. The dog was taken to the vet to have emergency surgery, where part of his stomach and half a lung were removed.

Scooby is recovering on Sunday night, but the surgery cost his owner several thousand dollars.

Worrell encourages the person responsible to come forward and hopes the awareness will prevent similar situations from happening in the future.

Hey just a heads up: if you’re shooting arrows at dogs in Jasper county, you should stop. I’m impressed and a little confused at Worrell’s reaction. You’re hoping "the awareness will prevent similar situations from happening in the future"? No dude! This guy shot your dog with an arrow! Shoot him back! That’s the best way to prevent a similar situation from happening in the future. Maybe this is a classic "come forward I'll be cool about it, wink wink" situation. Maybe it's all an elaborate ruse. But hey, if it doesn't work: you tell the perpetrator that if nobody steps forward, you’re just going to start shooting arrows into everybody’s torso! Make it a whole thing! Fuck it! Somebody’s got to pay for this.

You can’t treat this like a mistake, because it wasn’t. Nobody accidentally shoots someone else’s dog with an arrow. If this was a hunting accident, then you’re a terrible hunter and deserve an arrow to the torso. Whoever did this is a sadistic fuck and deserves the swift and just deliverance of vigilante justice. Vengeance for Scooby, we want it. We want it now.
