Do people actually use these? I saw one for the first time today and it looks insane! Like you're just putting your dog in a box? You can't fucking do that! You can dress this box up any way you want, but it's still a fucking prison cell. Given I've been pretty uncomfortable putting animals in boxes since I was a kid.

My brother and I went through like nine gerbils in the span of a year. Now I know that gerbils don't have the longest life expectancy, but ours departed much quicker than the norm. Causes of death were fairly normal: one ate rat poison, one ran away (died immediately), a couple got capped by a fellow gerbil, and my brother killed one by, you guessed it, putting it in a box. Losing Nippy hurt the most. Nippy was the iron man of gerbils, he was a fighter, the best of them, and for a while I thought he'd live forever. One day mom decided to clean Nippy's cage, a plastic network of tubes varying in size and color. Mom cleaned the cage and then left it out in the sun to dry off. Mom forgot that dear Nippy was in the cage, and he roasted to death.

So excuse me if I'm reluctant to leave any animal in a fucking box, especially one that looks like a cube-sized gas chamber. If I see a dog in one of these I'm breaking them out, don't call me a hero.
