I Hope I Can One Day Love Something As Much As This 4-Year-Old Loves This Garbage Truck

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- It happens every single Wednesday. Aaron gets so excited to see the garbage truck. "Like if he misses it, he did miss it one day, and he cried," Aaron's mom Jamie Fielding said.

Fielding said 4-year-old Aaron loves garbage day so much he runs to the drive way to wave hello.

This morning was no different as he ran with a gift in his hand.

"I said, 'Hey Aaron, tomorrow is trash day, I think we should make something for our trash man,'" Fielding said.

They made a snack for Jamie Coleman, the man who drives the garbage truck Aaron waves at.

The 4-year-old wasn't the only one who wanted to give something nice.

Coleman had a gift for Aaron too and Fielding captured it all on video as Coleman surprised Aaron with a toy truck.

This is it, this is true love. This is maybe the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, and this is what it’s all about. At this point, I’m fairly certain I’ll die alone. It’s okay, I’m not looking for your pity. Just seems like a lot to expect for all the pieces to match up, and frankly it just seems like a ton of work! I blog for a “living”, you think I’m planning a wedding any time soon? That’s not to say I want to die alone, because I definitely don’t. But it’s still a reality I’m preparing to accept (at 26). Loving people is bullshit. If you can't find a flaw with somebody else you can surely find one within yourself. You want all the material you'll ever need to sabotage a relationship? Look in the mirror because you've got the gift, kid.

It's not that I don't want to love someone, it's just that most of the time I'd rather throw myself off a bridge than spend time with anybody else outside my group of friends. You know? Like we've got stuff all figured out, everybody's got their roles, nobody does any unexpected shit any more (unless they're our designated wild card), we quote all the same shit, and make the same joke over and over again so why would you want to go and fuck that up by bringing someone else into the fold?

Maybe though, just maybe, I’ll one day love someone as much as this four year old loves his garbage man/truck. This is the purest love. The kind of love where you smile as soon as someone walks into the room. It’s the kind of love where you wake up and want to be a better person. This is the love that you bring into your friend group. This is the love that makes you look in the mirror and say, "Man, I want to stop being an asshole". It’s a love like this that makes things simple, “What do you love?” “I love garbage trucks”, fucking beautiful. I wonder what this is like. I may die alone, but at least I know that true love is out there, and it looks like this.

Happy holidays, folks. Love your loved ones like Aaron loves this fucking garbage truck.
