Lord Of The Rings To Become A TV Show
Good news is it’s being made through Amazon, which did a great job with Man In The High Castle, but to be fair, the two are pretty different projects.
At this point we don’t know anything more than that this show is happening. There’s been no word on cast, no word on story, no word on who’s directing, nada. I’m sure that this will end up getting a lot of hype, and I don’t blame it. I’m a HUGE LOTR person. Enough so that it’s something I can’t talk about without nerding out to the max. If you haven’t seen the movies, then my system can’t process why. If you don’t like them, then my system rejects you. Even so, all of this makes me very nervous. How can the Lord of The Rings Franchise get any better? The movies are literally perfect. They cannot be improved. And look at the fucking Hobbit movies; even Peter Jackson can’t one-up Peter Jackson!
I don’t know how they’re going to do this, or who they’re going to focus on. I’m surprised that the Tolkien family approved it (this actually gives me some hope), but I’m hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
P.S. Give me a cast, a director, or even the hint of a best boy, and I’m all in. I’m so weak.
P.P.S. I'm hearing it's a prequel, and my pulse is quickening.
