Woman Married Mom Because They "Hit It Off": Going To Prison Because That's Still Not Allowed

DUNCAN, Okla. - An Oklahoma woman who married her biological mother has received a 10-year, deferred sentence, according to KFOR. Misty Spann pleaded guilty to incest and will be on probation with two of those years under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

In September 2016, Misty Spann and her mother Patricia were arrested for incest.

Investigators told KFOR that 43-year-old Patricia Spann lost custody of Misty, 26, and two other children when they were young. They were then adopted by their grandmother.

Patricia Spann insisted to investigators she didn’t have contact with her kids until a few years ago. However, court records show she also married her biological son in Comanche County back in 2008, but the partnership was annulled in 2010.

Another one of Patricia's sons told KSWO that she tried to have an inappropriate relationship with him as well, but he denied her advances.

oooooooo no, you can't do that. Hate to say it, but it doesn't matter if you really hit it off with your mom, you can't marry her. It's great you guys get along, it's great that you don't hate each other, but unfortunately (?) it's gotta stop there. Think of this like when you really hit it off with someone out and about: it's great, you guys are laughing, everybody else blows, and then BOOM, you find out they have a significant other. Well, for most people, that's when you stop. That's how you've got to look at your mom. Just like you hit it off with a girl who had a boyfriend, doesn't mean you should go for it, because she's got a boyfriend. Just because you hit it off with your mom, doesn't mean you should go for it, because she's your mom.

You know why you can't do this? Because this is basically just the plot of True Detective Season 1. Things'll seem great, but then you move forward a couple generations and your grandkids are going to be Louisiana serial killers and it's all your fucking fault.

Also, come on, Misty! She went for both of your brothers before you! You're her last choice! Have a little bit of pride, sister! You've got fucking say "no thank you" to mom! You deserve better. But again, better doesn't apply here, because that's your mom.
