On Behalf Of Prince Harry's Reputation, I Must Know How Ed Sheeran Proposed To His Fiance And I Must Know Now
(CNN) Countless newlyweds have chosen Ed Sheeran's ballad, "Thinking Out Loud," to play during their first dance. Now, the British singer-songwriter gets to decide if he wants it played at his own wedding.
Sheeran, 26, announced Saturday morning that he and his longtime girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, are engaged.
"Got myself a fiancé just before new year," Sheeran wrote on Instagram. "We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx."
Sheeran told People Magazine last year that he's known Seaborn since they were children but they didn't start dating until he invited her to Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party in 2015.

This is a big moment. Prince Harry, your legacy is not going to be defined by whether you somehow find your way to the crown, how many kids you have, or how cool you look in a uniform, it’s going to be determined by whether Ed Sheeran, the most vanilla man alive, one ups your proposal. I can only begin to contemplate how anybody could one up you, but I reckon everybody’s got a little bad boy in them; that is, except for Ed Sheeran, who has zero negative a billion bad boy in him.
We’re talking the guy who got booed off of Game of Thrones. This guy was so soft, even in his TV spot, that people couldn’t believe he would have survived to adulthood in Westeros. I don’t blame them! Ned Stark got beheaded! How is Sheeran’s candy-bard-ass supposed to survive? Now we learn that Sheeran’s officially engaged to his girlfriend (who he met in high school, boring, and then re-met at Taylor Swift's 4th of July party, BORING), but we don’t have any details on the proposal yet. Lucky for you Prince Harry, you’ve still got some time before you reach the hypothetical guillotine of social humiliation. Worry not, dear reader, I will not rest until I learn the details of Ed Sheeran’s proposal, and when I do, we will judge these two as they deserve to be judged. It’s a great day to be Ed Sheeran, not so much Prince Harry.
