Hey Prince Harry, You Jabroni, This Watertown Surprise Proposal Just One-Upped Yours, How Does That Feel?

MEDFORD (CBS) – A Watertown man proposed to his girlfriend on a billboard along I-93 in Medford on Monday.

When a WBZ photographer stopped to get video of the bright pink electronic billboard, he ran into the happy couple.

“I say yes! Yes I do, forever,” Eliani said.

“He said we go to some event in Boston and he doesn’t know the address so we had to look,” Eliani explained.

So they pulled into a bank parking lot and that’s when the Medford woman saw the billboard.

“I was just trying to think of something different. And I was just Googling and going online thinking of different ideas and I came across something like this,” Bob said.

Look, this is a totally nice proposal. In terms of surprise proposals it’s not the craziest but it was pulled off very well. That being said, the fact that we can unequivocally posit that this proposal was better than Prince Harry’s is insane. All this took was a quick google search and a little creative thinking and Prince Harry couldn’t even match it. Aren’t you friends with the people who created Google, bro? You’ve got for all intents and purposes, bottomless resources, and you get one-upped by a guy from Watertown?

I love Watertown! I love Boston! It’s near and dear to my heart, but to think we’d ever be talking about a royal proposal and a Watertown proposal in the same sentence is true lunacy. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if Prince Harry reneges on his first proposal in order to re-propose in a more extravagant way. In fact, that’s the only way I’ll ever let this go.

The only silver lining to this is it’s clear that the people of America have heard my call for more romantic proposals in order to put balance back in the force. Thank you, Watertown, I knew I could count on you. It’s hard to stay mad at Prince Harry when I’ve got a supporter like you, but damn it I’ll try.

Seriously, Harold, some roses? Some candles? Not even that? That’s bare minimum, bub, BARE MINIMUM. The rest of the world may be quick to forgive this travesty of a romantic gesture, but I will not.
