I’ve Never Heard Of A Bomb Cyclone Before, But Looks Like We’re All Going To Die
(CNN) A massive "bombogenesis" -- an area of rapidly declining low pressure -- will wreak havoc on the Northeast this week, threatening hurricane-force winter wind gusts in a region already crippled by deadly cold.
The bombogenesis will result in what's known as a "bomb cyclone." And the bomb cyclone, expected to strike Thursday, will likely dump 6 to 12 inches of snow in New England and hurl 40- to 60-mph gusts.

Seems like a huge jump from Hurricane Irma to Bomb Cyclone, right? I don’t know what got into people to stop naming things after my really nice wheelchair bound neighbor and into a combination of two deadly things! Bombs and cyclones are pretty dangerous on their own, and yet here we are with something that's both of them! Has this term ever been used before? All I know is that yesterday I was worried about bombs (nuclear), cyclones, and now I’ve got throw bomb cyclones on top of that. Happy 2018 indeed.
Regardless of the terminology, it seems pretty apparent that we’re all going to die very shortly. You don’t name something a bomb cyclone unless that thing’s going to murder a lot of people. People are already dropping dead because it’s cold as a witch’s tit outside, sharks are dying, puppies are dying, Georgia is dying and now you’re telling me that things are going to get even worse? I don’t know if I’ll every be okay with naming this type of storm after the next Sharknado spin off, but seems like I won't be around for long enough for it to really matter.
