I guess this is good news! Let me put it this way, the human in me is happy for Mariah, and the blogger in me is devastated. I’m impressed that she came back, because last year was a shit show. Like, one of the worst busts in performance history. Everything about it sucked: her outfit, her voice, her reaction, even the fucking backup dancers.

 If she’d fucked it up again, that’s seppuku level shame. There’s just no coming back from that. You have to retire. While that would have been great blog material, that probably would have been a big bummer for Mariah Carey, so let’s start 2018 on a positive note. Way to go, Mariah, you’ve salvaged your New Years legacy. You robbed me of a great blog, but you didn’t bomb, and I guess that’s ok for now.
