Nigerian Exam Board Clerk Claims Missing $100,000 Was Eaten By Snake: Everybody Other Than Me Pretty Skeptical
Lagos, Nigeria (CNN)Controversy is trailing the disappearance of $100,000 from the coffers of Nigeria's examination board.
The exam board alleges that a clerk in Benue State has blamed a snake for swallowing the missing money.
"She confessed that she had the money, kept it in a vault in the office but a snake came and swallowed the money," Benjamin told CNN.
The clerk, identified as Philomena Chiesche, denied the allegations, claiming the exam board invented the story about the snake.

Bit of a confusing situation going on in Nigeria right now: a classic he’s said, she’s said. Basically, we’ve got a $100,000 dollars missing, a clerk who says that a snake ate it, and a bunch of people who don’t believe her. Add on top of that that now the clerk is saying she wasn’t the one who said that the snake ate the money- so this is turning into a massive clusterfuck. Is someone framing the snake? Is someone framing the clerk for framing the snake? Difficult to judge because who am I to say whether a snake, an African snake, can eat that much money?
I’d wager they could. When you’re dealing with snake names like Puff Adder, Black Mamba, and Carpet Vipers, aka the scariest snake names in the fucking world, there’s no limit to what they can do. Nice snakes aren’t named that. If any snake was going to be able eat a couple fat bills, it would be one of these. That point aside, if you steal $100,000 from your place of work, you’ve got to come up with a better excuse than this. Convincing me that a snake ate all of your money? Not difficult. Convincing your employers and everybody else in the world? Difficult.
