Hello.

I went to college to learn how to spell and it's not going great for me.

200 Million Eggs Recalled Over Salmonella And I Refuse To Be Shook

A company has recalled more than 200 million eggs after an outbreak of salmonella was traced to one of its farms in North Carolina.
The federal Food and Drug Administration reported Friday that eggs from the affected farm were distributed to nine states — Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia — and were likely connected to 22 reported cases of salmonella infections.

Full story here.

206 million eggs is a whole mess of eggs. Doesn't matter, I'm not interested in any egg exchange. I bought these eggs and I'm sticking with them. I don’t know what that says about me, am I brave? A coward? Lazy? I’d say a combination of all three, with an added exclamation point on lazy. I’m a big egg guy. I eat eggs basically every morning and they’re, for better or worse, a big part of my diet; so it’s fair to say that I am very susceptible to this salmonella outbreak. Despite that, I have no interest at all in even checking if my eggs be bad.

The whole process just sounds exhausting. It’s enough effort to get eggs in the first place, because you’ve got to get up, put on your shoes, walk one block the grocery store, find the eggs, make sure they’re not cra- are you bored yet? I am. Give me the salmonella aka the cookie dough clap- I bet it’s a myth anyway. I’m also already sick so I’m probably going to be fine. Ever heard of anyone battling a cold, diabetes, and salmonella poisoning at the same time? Probably not - that’s because it’s impossible. When you have a chronic illness you’re only allotted one additional illness at a time. That’s one of the few unrecognized benefits of diabetes. The other benefits are all very well recognized.

So yeah, in conclusion I am not going to be living in fear of the “salmonella” outbreak any time soon. I’ve made my peace, and I will continue to make my eggs. The recent E. Coli outbreak, however, means that I will not be eating a vegetable for the next month.
