In Crazy Turn Of Events Instagram Model Poses In School Of Sharks: Gets Bitten By Shark
Is the perfect photo worth a scar? Katarina Zarutskie, a 19-year-old Instagram model and student at the University of Miami, learned the hard way this summer while vacationing in the Bahamas’ Exumas islands with her boyfriend and his family.
During the vacation, the teen noticed some people swimming and snorkeling in the water where a group of sharks had gathered off of the Staniel Cay marina. She decided to take get in the water to take a picture with the sharks, according to BuzzFeed News.
Her boyfriend’s father, who was holding the camera, managed to capture the sequence of shots during which the shark attacked.

Well if this is the price you pay to get famous then count me out. At first I thought this girl was just the victim of some bad timing, but really she’s just the victim of being a fucking idiot. If you look at a group of a thousand sharks and think, “Lying in this school of sharks is worth tripling my followers,” then we come from different schools of thought, my friend!
But again, I am not famous, so if this is your cup of tea than more power to you. To be fair, this seems like a pretty minor bite, and the young lady recognized these as the not-so-dangerous nurse sharks and was smart enough to cover up the blood and prevent being turned into a human chum bucket. That being said, as we discussed on the podcast this week, if the shark in question is bigger than a cat and has teeth, then you should avoid swimming with it.

There ya go. Spot on, kid. Probably wasn’t a good call, but let’s just chalk it up to some naivete and ignorance due to not listening to the premier podcast on being afraid of sharks…

Excuse me? What? Jesus Christ. You recommend that people do it! That’s it nursing sharks, next time you’ve got to take her whole hand. Take the whole goddamn hand. I’m sorry. I really am. What a terrible thing to say, but this girl clearly didn’t get the point, so you’ve got to raise the stakes. You want to know how you go about this in a smart way? You avoid it at all costs. Some fucking youtube start 8-year old is going to get perforated by a group of angry bull sharks because he looks at a school full of predators as a opportunity to triple his followers rather than a pit of danger.
