Hundreds of U.S. women die each year giving birth, and hospitals across the country aren't routinely following practices that would save women's lives during childbirth, according to a new USA Today investigation.
Every year, about 50,000 U.S. women are severely injured and 700 die during childbirth, the investigation found. That makes the United States one of the "most dangerous" places in the developed world to give birth, USA Today said.

We called it, we fucking called it. From the second we started covering public births we knew that this was the way of the future. Why go to a hospital to give birth when you can pop a poop covered monster out in the comfort of your own home, or even better, a chipotle parking lot! I don’t totally understand the logic behind why hospitals are having these problems. It all comes down to not following well documented and proven procedures. Why rely on some shithead doctor who’s gone to “school” when you could be vagina flinging your newborn at a butcher with sick hands. No wonder people are taking their births elsewhere! We’re working with a bunch of doctor’s who don’t follow instructions!
In all seriousness I have no idea how anyone survives child birth at all. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that they do. But really, shitting out a child seems like it should kill you 100% of the time.
