LiAngelo Ball Could Face Prison Time In China

Damn, here we were thinking that the Ball family couldn’t get any more dramatic and we were dead wrong. While we’re focusing on Lonzo’s play and Lavar’s much unwanted commentary, LiAngelo is facing JAIL TIME IN CHINA for shoplifting.

Let’s dive in. I don’t know anything about Chinese prison but I think sitting in any foreign prison where you don’t speak the language is a pretty bad idea. I also think you want to avoid jail time in any country where the government isn’t as interested in, ohhh I don’t know, human rights as others. Look, I know shop lifting isn’t the most exciting crime, but oh my god why would you ever commit a crime in any country that’s not ours? China falls on the short list of countries that I would not be caught dead jaywalking in. That's a government that ran people over with tanks NOT that long ago. I mean that poor American kid DIED in North Korean captivity because he tried to steal a flag. In Thailand you can get basically get the death penalty for having A JOINT. Why would you ever ever ever want to send up in Thai prison?

I will say, and this kills me, there’s no better father for this situation than Lavar Ball. You want LiAngelo in prison, China? Sure thing. You can have him, but you get Lavar too. Before you know it, the Ball patriarch will be debating with your president on live TV. He’ll be starting parades full of people who don’t know what he’s saying but are strangely bewitched by him. He’ll bring along Stephen A Smith and then you guys will really be fucked! You won't hear the end of it until LiAngelo’s sentence is up. Get ready because no other prisoner will be as good at shanking as LiAngelo, at least according to Lavar. So tread carefully, China. Because maybe, just this once, justice can wait.
